Well, this is my first try at this.
It's something I've thought about before but never tried.

My first topic is about the state of affairs in the West(North America).
Now that Saddam and his regime have been crushed and defeated, it seems like everything's asll good now.
WRONG.
You know, when a person looks at and listens to the news or newspapers, its like now that US has "liberated" Iraq ,everything's all good, one country has been taken off the axis of evil and a people have been liberated.
It goes way more deeper than that. Cause now there's more to come, more stress and turmoil and trouble for the US to make Iraq a "democratic, modern, free" nation.

True, you have to give credit to the United States especially Bush for having the balls to call Saddam's bluff and take him on head-first without much international support.
Also,President bush is right to talk about the presence of evil in this world and that a means to destroy this evil is neccessary.
But, that's the thing, there's so much evil in this world than just Iraq,Iran,North Korea.

You can look at Africa,Indonesia,Columbia, the Middle East, hell even Russia-Chechnya,etc. just to name a few more places.
Do you think Bush and the US are really going to go into all those places mentioned to clean them up just like Iran or Afghanistan?
Nope.
The truth is,that inspite of what big(rich) nations' leaders and governments and the media says, there is so much evil,so much suffering,strife,conflict-you name it, happening all over the world that later on in,whether it be 5 or 15 or even 50 years from now there'll only be terrible and devastating consequences to come if we (in developing ie. prosperous countries) are not aware of the vast inequalities and sufferings elsewhere.

Take for example,Afghanistan, in 2001 that was the hot news-the war to 'end terror',to destroy Al-Queda and get Osama.Every day, every hour back in October 2001 to early 2002,just like in the recently-concluded Iraqi invasion, the media (Fox,CNN etc.)showed non-stop coverage of the situation in Afghanistan.
The US did end the Taliban reign and they did try to make Afghanistan into a modern nation but yet now ,what do we know about that country??
Now,the media has "forgotten" about Afghanistan and relegated it to scraps and pieces like when a US helicopter goes down for example, but the public is not informed of what progress has been made in that country. Is it that Afghanistan has improved and developed so well that it warrants little attention from the western media. Not at all.

the answer is :little or no progress in some cases. The government of Afghanistan is really just the government of Kabul. Different provinces are mainly controlled by different and rival warlords. The US , of course had handed over control to the U.N. but you would think that the US could have done more considering it was their invasion into Afghanistan.

The same can happen in Iraq, what with the different factions coming into play now.

I hope to have more here and be better next time.
Well, if you made it here, thank you.
